Did you ever feel like everything's falling?

That my friends is a line from the Stereophonic's lead single "Fly Like An Eagle" off their new album, "Kind". The new album was released on October 25th, 2019. So far it has received positive, 4 star reviews! I'm not here to ramble on about the album and how I think it's great. As much as I would like to, i'm not going to at the moment as i'm still digesting the album ( already loving it) and maybe, just maybe I will write about the album in a future post. For now, I want to stay focused on the song "Fly Like An Eagle" and why I think it is such a beautiful and uplifting song.

The first time I Iistened to this song, I couldn't help but get a feeling of hope. Kelly Jones manages to convey that message of hope throughout the song with his very catchy chorus, "Hey hey, my my, everything's going to be alright, hey hey, my my, everything's going to be just fine." Right before that chorus he asks you "Did you ever feel like everything's falling? to fly like an eagle and, dare to reborn and.." I just thought to myself, damn, that some deep shit right there. It hit because sometimes in life, it does feel like everything is falling. Everything isn't going the way you want it to. You feel helpless, like everything is falling. That feeling of falling can be felt further within the verses.

Thinking about quitting, thinking it's time now Thinking it's all over, quiet in my mind Everybody's laughing, everybody's sure Nothing seems likely, nothing's unknown.

It's almost as if you've fallen to the point you feel like quitting. Kelly further goes on and sings "Something feels missing, something ain't right." It made me think, maybe something is missing? What am I missing? Is what I am missing the key that will take away that feeling of falling? It's the mystery of life, the unknown. What you don't have you don't need it now. if were constantly falling and looking for or worried about that missing thing in our life that will ease your mind, I don't think you will be happy!

Kelly realizes this and acknowledges that feeling. What you can do is be happy with what you have. With the people that surround and care about you. everyone has their ups and downs, and their own struggle. But the important thing is not to quit and not to give up! I think the most powerful part of this song is the chorus. It's a subtle reminder that everything will be alright. It may not seem like it now, but it will be. I honestly go back to that line in my own day to day life, whenever something shitty happens to me. It's just a moment. Hearing that chorus for me is uplifting. I can take comfort in those words. It will be ok. I've got Kelly on my side! He wants us to fly like an eagle and rise above our struggles!

So my fellow reader, if you haven't already, have a listen to Fly Like an Eagle. I can't recommend it enough. It's a song of hope, of re-birth. What are you waiting for? just remember hey hey, my my, everything's going to be alright.
